Biographical note

Frank Wayne Calderwood, a native of Manilla, Iowa, earned a B.S. (1946) in Ceramic Engineering (1946) and an M.S. (1957) in Ceramic Engineering from Iowa State College.

Calderwood worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps (1935-1938) as a construction laborer at the Ledges State Park in Boone County, Iowa, and as a surveyor in Red Oak, Iowa.

 

Collection description

The collection contains biographical information and the typescript of a talk presented to the Story County Genealogical Society (2000) by Calderwood documenting his experiences while serving in the Civilian Conservation Corps.
