Historical note

The Iowa State University Women's Swimming & Diving team dates back to the 1920s and was known then as the "tankers." Women's Swimming & Diving began varsity play during the 1970-1971 season. The first official team win came against Graceland College (1970). They claimed one Big 8 Conference title (1974). Women's Swimming and Diving holds an all-time record of 159-149 through the 2007-2008 season.

Collection description
