Historical note
The Iowa State University Men's Swimming and Diving program began in 1916 and was discontinued after the 2000-2001 season due to budget cuts within the Athletic Department. The program held swimming and diving competitions at the Beyer Hall Poll. Beyer Hall has been the site of several Big 8 championship meets and two NCAA championship competitions. The program had many successful seasons, winning twenty Big 8 championships (1929, 1931-1934, 1936, 1938-1942, 1947-1949, 1951, 1954, 1967, 1976-1977, 1995). Iowa State also fared well in the NCAA championships, finishing in the top 20 three times, including a program best 17th place (1987). Through the 2000 season, the program had a win-loss-tie record of 388-222-3. The final record for 2001 was not available. Coaches
