Abstract
Roger Cichy was the Associate Director of Bands at Iowa State University and Director of the Iowa State University Cyclone Football 'Varsity' Marching Band (ISUCF'V'MB) (1986-1995). This collection contains correspondence, news clippings, and other Department of Music papers related to Cichy. The papers include materials from the concert band, jazz ensemble, pep band, and marching band. |
Biographical note
Roger Cichy was born in 1956 in Columbus, Ohio. He was the Associate Director of Bands at Iowa State University (1986-1995) and was Director of the Iowa State University Cyclone Football 'Varsity' Marching Band (ISUCF'V'MB) during that same time-period. One of his most notable accomplishments while at Iowa State was arranging a Pepsi Company commercial into a marching band tune for Pepsi. He resigned from his post in 1995 to concentrate on composing and arranging and later worked as a freelance composer and arranger. |
Collection description
This collection (1987-1995, undated) contains correspondence, news clippings, and materials from the concert band, jazz ensemble, pep band, and marching band at Iowa State University. Included in the collection are general expectations of the multiple band departments, information on the Big 8 Tournament pep band schedule, and a percussion methods exam. |
