Wilford Melvin Taylor was born June 6, 1890. Taylor grew up in Los Angeles, California, and graduated from Hollywood High School. He attended Iowa State College (University) from Fall semester 1910 through Fall semester 1911, when he left school due to financial difficulties after the death of his father. Taylor was a member of Ozark fraternity (now the Iowa Beta Chapter of Phi Kappa Psi). He played on the 1910 reserve football team and on the 1911 varsity football team in the halfback position. |
This collection (1910-1911) contains a scrapbook and photographs documenting the Iowa State College baseball, football, and track teams and the Ozark fraternity. In addition to photographs, the scrapbook also contains several news clippings and artifacts highlighting activities Taylor participated in as a student. A number of loose photographs and a program for the Iowa versus Iowa State football game were removed from the scrapbook and placed in Box 1, Folder 3. |
The collection is arranged alphabetically. |
