Biographical note

Gertrude G. Clifford attended Iowa State College (University) from Fall 1914 until Spring 1915. She was a freshman majoring in Home Economics from Rolling Prairie, Iowa.

 

Collection description

The collection (1914-1915) contains notebooks and a dance card belonging to Gertrude G. Clifford. The notebooks contain course notes and essays written by Ms. Clifford during the spring semester of 1915 at Iowa State College (University). They document two sewing courses (including both lecture and lab notes), a personal sanitation and hygiene course, and a history course. The notes and essays are handwritten and course handouts, sewing patterns, and cloth swatches are pasted into the notebooks. The dance card is located in the University Artifact Collection (Artifact 2006-224.001).
