Biographical note

Raymond F. Anderson (1888-1967) graduated from Park College in Parkville, Missouri in 1913. From 1913 to 1924, he was a farmer but then was employed as a reporter for the Oelwein (Iowa) Daily Register and then the West Union (Iowa) Weekly Argus-Gazette (1924-1927). He was also farm editor of the Cedar Rapids Gazette (1927-1944). Mr. Anderson provided information to fill a daily farm page for this paper.

Raymond Anderson accepted a job as associate editor of Farm Journal, stationed in Cedar Rapids, Iowa (1944-1955). He also worked out of Denver, Colorado and later lived in St. Cloud, Florida. Mr. Anderson was the first field editor ever to be stationed away from the headquarters of a major agricultural magazine. He traveled in 48 states and several foreign countries. He was assigned to cover Iowa and the Midwest from his Cedar Rapids home.

Raymond Anderson married Helene Cooke in 1914.
