Biographical note
Charles M. Hood was born 17 April 1907. He attended Creston (Iowa) High School and Creston Junior College prior to enrolling in Iowa State College (University). He received his B.S. (1931) in Farm Crops and Soils from Iowa State. He spent the early part of his career with the Soil Conservation Service in Iowa. Hood later settled in Columbia, Missouri. Hood died 29 January 1994. |
Collection description
This collection (1948-1988, undated) contains slides relating to soil conservation practices, an audiotape "50 Years Ago in Soil and Water Conservation" which accompanies some of the slides, and an audiotape of Hood's reminiscences about the Civilian Conservation Corps camps at which he worked. Also included is a Soil Conservation Service handbook on erosion control. Additional Charles M. Hood papers are held by the American Heritage Center, University of Wyoming, Laramie (collection # 9756). |
