Historical note

Harold Charles Ray was a native of Clinton, Iowa, who worked as a commercial artist in Chicago. DeWitt Harris (Dan) Winget was a Clinton, Iowa newspaper publisher, who was a friend of Ray's.

This undated cartoon was dedicated to Ray's good friend, D.H. Winget, and depicts Winget surrounded by publishing and editorial items and ephemera.
