Historical note

The Iowa Organization of Women for Agriculture (I.O.W.A.) was founded in 1984. Their goal is "to unite together to promote agriculture as a way of life, to preserve the family farm system, and to tell the story of agriculture to the general public." I.O.W.A. was an affiliate of American Agri-Women, a national coalition of farm and ranch women. In the late 1980s the organization became inactive.
