Ryerson Polytechnical Institute's Women in Engineering Committee established a summer camp for women in 1989 called Discover Engineering. The summer camp is for young women in high school and introduces them to the challenges and rewards of engineering through hands on activities and discussions. The camp is led by women engineers, scientists, and students. This collection contains a survey, report, and program plan for developing the program by Peter Hiscocks. |
Ryerson Institute of Technology was established in 1948. The institute was later renamed Ryerson Polytechnic Institute, and is now (2011) called Ryerson University. Ryerson University is located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The university's Women in Engineering Committee established a summer camp for women in 1989 called Discover Engineering. The summer camp is for young women in high school and introduces them to the challenges and rewards of engineering through hands on activities and discussions.
