This collection contains engravings and lithographs (some hand-colored) as well as photogravures depicting farmsteads and stock farms in Iowa circa 1871-1904. Typically, prints have originally appeared in such vintage atlases as the A.T. Andreas' Illustrated Historical Atlas of the State of Iowa, the Atlas of the State of Iowa, and other publications. Most of the prints have multiple images. Among these are images from Des Moines County, Harrison County, Keokuk County, and more. The captions for each image are listed as they appear on the print. |
This collection was purchased by the Department of Special Collections in 1995. |
The files are arranged by Iowa County. |
