Biographical note

Charles A. Crim was born on October 10, 1908. He was a tenant farmer near Stratford in Webster County, Iowa, where he raised cattle and owned horses. By 1953, he purchased 40 acres of land in Webster County. Crim's last residence was in Boone, Iowa. He died on July 19, 2003.

 

Collection description

This collection (1918-1966) contains farm records and receipts of Charles A. Crim. The collection also includes two record books noting farm expenses from the 1940s. Much of the collection is of receipts for various farm expenses, including electricity, gasoline, seed corn, tractor repairs, and miscellaneous farm supplies. The collection also contains tax information about Crim such as tax receipts and property tax assessments. Finally, the collection contains some miscellaneous farm materials, including brochures for Aeromotor windmills, a catalog for the National Hereford Hog Record Association annual show and sale, correspondence, Farm Bureau membership cards, and literature from the Stratford Grain and Supply Cooperative.
