Historical note

Of Sugar Cane and Syrup is a film produced by Luella Snyder and Steve Knudsen.  The film documents the Stribling family of northeastern Louisiana making syrup in the fall, using simple procedures and equipment.  Brady Stribling provides a conversational commentary throughout, explaning what he does, sharing the recipe, and methods his family passed from generation to generation.

The film title was awarded the 1977 Council on International Nontheatrical Events (CINE) Golden Eagle Award. 

Collection Description

The collection contains awards, cassette tapes, flyers, an invitation to the 1977 CINE Awards, a photograph and publicity articles from film industry periodicals.
