The Des Moines Home Economics Association (previously the Des Moines Home Economics Club) was an affiliate of the Iowa Home Economics Association (in 2009 the Iowa Association of Family and Consumer Sciences) and the National Home Economics Association (in 2009 the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences). The association held monthly meetings, which often included speakers, and educational opportunities for its members such as tours and state meetings.

The collection (1961-1977) contains a president's notebook, yearbooks, and a scrapbook. The president's notebook contains activity reports and the annual reports of the president, treasurer, and other officers, The yearbooks include the club's constitution and information on officers, club meetings and members. The scrapbook mainly contains news clippings and articles about the association's activities, but also includes a yearbook from 1966-1967. A photocopy of the scrapbook is included in the collection.
