Historical note

The Professional Marketing and Public Relations Committee was a national committee for the American Home Economics Association (AHEA), now called the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (AAFCS). AAFCS represents family and consumer science/human sciences professionals from a variety of occupations and specializations, providing its members with educational programs and influencing public policy. The Professional Marketing and Public Relations Committee helped people working in the human sciences field with their public relations and marketing efforts, which included presenting sessions at annual conventions and organizing a collection of resource materials for marketing home economics.

Collection description

This collection consists of marketing handbooks from various state home economics/human sciences associations and universities, home economics handbooks, display signs, and the AHEA newsletter. These materials were part of the committee's collection of resource materials for marketing home economics.

Related collections include MS 263, American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences, Education and Technology Division; MS 265, Iowa Home Economics Association (an affiliate of AAFCS); and MS 607, National Coalition for Family and Consumer Sciences Education.
