Abstract

Born Catherine Ada Foley on March 17, 1902, she simply went by Ada by the time she reached college. Leaving her hometown of Paris, Illinois, Foley attended school at Purdue University (1920-1921). She transferred to Iowa State College (University) following her freshman year and was a resident of Elm Lodge. Foley graduated from Iowa State with a B.S. (1924) in home economics. Ada Foley died in December 1988. This collection (1920-1930) consists of a college scrapbook compiled by Ada Foley. The scrapbook contains notes from fellow classmates, official correspondence from Iowa State announcing her transfer of credits, membership cards, house regulations, concert programs, party souvenirs, VEISHEA programs and flyers, photographs of classmates and student activities, and her commencement week program and announcement. The scrapbook also contains several pages of photographs and programs from her year at Purdue University. Letters and announcements from former classmates received by Foley following graduation are also included.
