Abstract
Ethos is a general interest magazine published by students at Iowa State University. It includes stories regarding campus news, local personalities, and entertainment opportunities. The publication, initially titled The Scientist, was first issued in 1947 and is supported by funding from the Iowa State University Government of the Student Body. This collection includes publication awards, board minutes, records, and news clippings. The collection also contains an incomplete set of loose issues of the magazine. |
Historical note
Ethos is a student publication produced by students at Iowa State University. It was first published in 1947 and initially called The Scientist. In 1954, the name officially changed to Ethos. The magazine is produced solely by Iowa State students and is supported by funding from the Government of the Student Body. It is a full-color production and is printed four times a year with a circulation of about 4,500. Ethos is a general interest magazine with stories featuring campus personalities, university issues, and entertainment at Iowa State University. Ethos provides students with the opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at magazine production and students from all majors are welcome to contribute as writers, editors, designers, photographers, or advertisers. |
