Historical note
The National Agricultural Advertising and Marketing Association was organized in 1965 and officially established in July, 1966. In 1973 the National Agricultural Advertising and Marketing Association's (NAAMA) name was changed to the National Agri-Marketing Association (NAMA). Serving the food and fiber industries, the aims of NAMA include promoting and improving professional excellence in agri-marketing and increasing the public's knowledge of agriculture's role in the economy. NAMA is based in Overland Park, Kansas. The Missouri/Kansas Chapter, based out of Kansas City, is one of the many regional units of the National Agri-Marketing Association. |
Collection description
This collection (1971-2001) includes bylaws, correspondence, career-related information, membership information, newsletters, and printed materials. These records contain materials mostly from the local chapter, but also some materials from the national organization. The collection also contains information regarding special events such as: Fall Kickoff Meeting, Golf/Tennis Day, Agriculture Day, Agrimarketing Day, Careers Day, and several Outlook Conferences. Additional files include information regarding program excellence, special projects, overall chapter excellence, and brochures titled "Reaching New Heights" and "Best of National Agri-Marketing Association." The collection also contains some records of the National Future Farmers of America Conventions.
