Historical note

The Iowa Press Photographers Association (IPPA) was organized in 1946. The Association's members are photographers on daily and weekly newspapers, teachers, and college and technical school students. The IPPA aims to help members to become better photographers, to improve the use of photographs in publications, and to keep members informed of the trends and changes in photojournalism. At the annual convention of the IPPA, there is a photographic print contest. The best prints are selected for a traveling exhibit that is displayed in libraries and businesses across Iowa.

 

Collection description

The collection (1979-1986, undated) contains black and white photographs which were used in the IPAA Annual Traveling Exhibits from 1979 to 1986.
