R.S. Vibber acted as the administrator of his brother's estate in the 1880s. Vibber owned several tracts of land in the township of Farley, Iowa. One of these pieces of land lay parallel to the Dubuque & Pacific Railroad. Vibber's land was probably used for agricultural purposes. |
This collection (1880-1988) contains handwritten abstracts of title to land in the town of Farley, Iowa. The abstracts are dated March 8, 1880, and list the history of ownership of the land as well as information about taxes paid and the measurements of the land. The land discussed is referred to by lot names including lots 3, 4, 8, 289, and 290. Also included in this collection is a letter of explanation written by Mrs. John H. Dill, great niece of R.S. Vibber. The letter briefly states that Mrs. Dill found the abstracts while going through papers that her mother had kept and thought they might be of interest. |
