Iowa Beef Processors, Inc. (IBP) was founded in 1961 in Denison, Iowa. In 1967, they opened a boxed beef operation at the company's new Dakota City plant complex, one of the first large-scale beef-processing plants in the nation, and revolutionized meat processing. Because of IBP's movement into pork and other value-added areas, Iowa Beef Processors became IBP, Inc., in 1982. IBP, Inc. includes Allied Products, Foodbrands America, BPI, Inc., and Thomas E. Wilson™. The company was headquartered in Dakota Dunes, South Dakota, but has extensive holdings in North America, joint venture operations in China, Ireland, and Russia, and sales offices throughout the world. The company merged with Occidental in 1981. |
This collection (1980-1981) contains a press release announcing the company's merger with Occidental and an annual report (1980). |
