Description of series

Series 3 Soaring Sailplanes and Gliders 1919-1977, n.d.
extent: 4 boxes
description: This series contains material concerned with sailplanes and gliders, those crafts that operate without engines. It also examines the role of birds and their influence on gliding. Located within this subseries are eighteen of Lippisch's articles that deal with human-powered flight. (Primarily, these articles are in German.) Along with publications are several flight calculations and their accompanying data tables (especially in Box 7, Folders 1-9). Three oversized folders (in Map Case, Drawer 1) contain additional drawings and photographs.
