Series 8 | General Ground Effect | 1923-1976, n.d. |
extent: | 4 boxes | |
description: |
This series is rich in correspondence (especially Box 40) and patent
materials (Box 41) that relate to the phenomena of ground effect. The
series also contains photographs (1959-1964, n.d.) of models (including
Aeroskimmers and the Aerofoil) in a water tank and wind tunnel. A
statistical sampling of the photographs was taken. The methodology used
was 10% of each group were selected for retention. One folder of FAA
publications and regulations is also included in this series. See also Series 9, Ground Effect-Aeroskimmers and Series 10, Ground Effect-Aerofoil. |
